Mission Trip To Africa - 2010

Mission Trip to Nigeria, June 24th - August 8th, 2010

Dear Friends,
In June, 2010, my wife and I, along with three others (Crystal, Tracey & Teresa) traveled to Ibadan, Nigeria in West Africa.

After a long flight, we arrived in Nigeria on Thursday, June 24, 2010.  The first weekend of our trip we attended the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Christian Mission School for the Deaf! Alumni from all over the world came to celebrate.  The celebration began with a banquet on Thursday, June 24th, followed by an all day celebration at a tent on the school's new property.  The celebration included words of encouragement from former students, traditional African dance, food and fellowship.  On Sunday morning I had the opportunity to preach for their Father's Day worship service.  There were over 250 Deaf in attendance and the Lord blessed us.

During the next few weeks, we had the opportunity to work with the children at the Christian Mission School forthe Deaf, under the direction of Pastor Emmanuel Ilabor and his staff.  The children were very friendly and happy to welcome us to their school.

In preparation for the mission trip, we collected donations of personal hygiene items and school supplies for the children.  We were able to ship nine boxes of supplies, included a 32 in. Flat Screen TV to the Christian Mission School for the Deaf that arrived via Federal Express during our stay.  The staff and students were very grateful for the donations.

The Lord opened many doors for evangelism work during our time in Nigeria:

I led a two day Deaf Revival in Lagos in early July. Several people rededicated their lives to the Lord.  I preached in Deaf churches in Ibadan, Abeokuta, Ikire, Oyo, Iwo Road and led the Leadership Conference (Deaf leaders from all churches over Nigeria on August 3-8 in Ibadan)  I also visited a newly established Deaf school in Sapele, Delta State.

To God be the glory for the work that was done in Nigeria.  Please continue to pray for the people of Nigeria that the word of the Lord will continue to be ministered to the Deaf.

Thank you and God bless,
Job and Bukola Ayantola
